EB-5 Visa Program: The Easiest Path to Securing Residency in the U.S.
At Farro & Co, we work with individuals and families who want to build a future in the United States but often feel weighed down by the complexity of visa options. Our role is to simplify this journey with clarity and confidence.
The U.S. is one of the most desirable destinations in the world. It is a place where children can receive world-class education, where ambitious professionals can grow careers, and where investors and entrepreneurs can access one of the largest markets. The dream is clear. The challenge is choosing the right path to reach it.
Why Existing Visa Pathways Fall Short
Many families begin with student or work visas. Students often start on an F-1 visa, but once they graduate, the path to long-term residency becomes uncertain. Skilled professionals usually rely on the H-1B visa, but what was once a reliable route is now a lottery. No matter how qualified someone is, the outcome depends on chance.
As demand has increased, wait times for permanent residency can stretch to ten or fifteen years. Families live in limbo, unable to plan their future with confidence. We often meet professionals who have spent more than a decade in the U.S. yet still carry the stress of not knowing if they will ever achieve security.
Uncertainty is more than an inconvenience. It disrupts lives and forces people to put plans on hold. For those on employer-sponsored visas, the pressure is even greater. A layoff or change in employment can trigger a countdown of just one month to secure a new sponsor. If that does not happen, the right to live, work, and study in the U.S. is lost. The stress of this reality weighs heavily on families who want stability for their children.
Why EB-5 is Different
These challenges are what make the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program such a valuable option. Unlike most visa categories, EB-5 provides a direct and reliable path to permanent residency.
The program allows foreign investors to obtain a U.S. Green Card by making a qualifying investment in the American economy. This is typically done through a government-approved Regional Center that manages projects designed to create jobs. The required investment is USD 800,000 in areas with higher unemployment or USD 1.05 million in more urban locations.
What sets EB-5 apart is its structure. Your investment helps create at least ten full-time jobs for U.S. workers. In return, you receive permanent residency that is not tied to luck, sponsorship, or long waiting lists. It leads directly to a Green Card, with the ability to apply for U.S. citizenship after five years.
For families, this means stability. For children, it means access to top universities without the limitations international students face. For investors, it means the chance to participate in real projects with the potential to recover their capital after the investment period.
EB-5 vs the Proposed “Gold Card”
There has been discussion about the future of U.S. immigration programs, particularly around a proposed “Gold Card.” Under current rules, EB-5 is secured until 30 September 2026 under the grandfathering clause.
The difference between EB-5 and the proposed Gold Card is significant. The Gold Card would require a donation of USD 5 million per person. For a family of four, that means USD 20 million with no return of capital. EB-5, by contrast, requires USD 800,000 in a qualifying project, which is an investment and not a donation. This price difference is why demand for EB-5 is rising. Many investors are acting now to secure the program under its current structure.
The Process, Step by Step
At Farro & Co, we guide families through each stage of the EB-5 process.
- Select the right project: We help identify projects that meet EB-5 requirements and have a proven history of returning funds to investors.
- Make the investment: Once invested, the EB-5 petition (Form I-526) is filed, showing the funds are legitimate and the project qualifies.
- Receive a conditional Green Card: With approval, you and your family gain a two-year Green Card, allowing you to live, work, and study anywhere in the U.S.
- Remove conditions: Near the end of the two years, Form I-829 is filed to confirm that the jobs were created. Once approved, you become a permanent resident.
- Apply for citizenship: After five years, you become eligible for U.S. citizenship.
A Path to Certainty
For families tired of uncertainty, EB-5 is more than an alternative. It is a pathway to stability and peace of mind. At Farro & Co, we do more than assist with applications. We stand beside our clients at every step, ensuring the process is clear, secure, and aligned with long-term goals.
The EB-5 program is available today. For those ready to take the next step, it is one of the clearest ways to build a stable life in the United States.
